Friday the 13th of June sees the screening of the highly anticipated (by me) film What is Conceptual Photography that myself, Richard West and David Mann produced in response to this increasingly frequented term “Conceptual Photography”.

The etymology of the term has it’s roots in the conceptual art movement of the 60’s however is often used to described any photographic work produced that has a ‘concept’ behind it. The discussion is vast and varied, with a mix of artists, academics, writers and students discussing both the validity of such a term and what it means to them.

The film will screen as part of the Photo Ireland Festival at Moxie Studios at 7pm. If you are in or around Dublin, pop along. If not stay tuned to the Source.ie website as it will make it’s way online in the coming weeks.
