After almost 6 months of working in the Belfast Exposed Archive it’s almost time. The invites have been sent, the images printed  are being printed and the limited edition publication sent to the printers. Myself, Zoe Hamil and David Mann ask you all to join us at the opening of Will we be there? 28th April at 7pm. Continues 29th April to 28th May.

Will we be there? is a new exhibition curated by the interns currently working with Belfast Exposed photographic archive. This vast collection of more than half a million negatives and slides, has been produced by photographers in and around Belfast over the course of the organization’s 30 year history.

By shedding light upon some of the unseen images to be found in the collection, the exhibition presents a vision of Belfast beyond the established visual rhetoric of The Troubles.

As a set of ambiguous and often abstract images, the selected photographs represent the gaps holding this unique collection together, encouraging interaction with the archive and serving as a platform to orientate the viewer within this mass of images, whilst emphasising the importance of maintaining such a valuable resource.
